Does your business have an online presence? If you don’t currently have a business blog maybe it is time to get one started.
There are several reasons why you should start a blog for your business today. The first reason is that blogging is the perfect way to show your customer’s and clients your expertise. You can very easily publish regular content about your business and provide your customers with tips and helpful suggestions.
By providing free content to your customers you are building a relationship that will last. This relationship will turn many of your blog visitors into paying customers! Word of mouth referrals are a huge source of business and blogging is the perfect way to do this.
When you blog you are creating traffic back to your main business. This can be done very successfully when announcing your blog posts to your Facebook page and when adding your post to your Twitter feed.
This increase in traffic will ultimately help your page rank within the search engines. What this means is that the more visitors you get the more popular Google sees your blog. So when someone is searching for information your blog is more likely to be listed on the first page of two of Google. Plus with the latest Google updates they are attaching page rank to those blogs which have fresh new content. So blogging regularly will have its benefits.
Have you looked to see if your competitor’s have a blog? If they do then this is the perfect way for you to see what they are up to and a way of seeing how you can beat out your competition. If you don’t have a blog yet you could be losing out on a good portion of your market share.
Don’t have the time to set up and add content to your blog regularly? Then hiring a freelance writer could be the perfect solution for you. Many freelancers are able to help you set up your blog and create content on a regular basis. Many will add the content into your blog and schedule it to automatically post once or twice a week.
The biggest mistake you can make is to set up a blog and then leave it idle. Having an out of date blog is the quickest way to turn away your visitors. Getting a writer to help you create your blog content is the easiest solution.

Hi Sue,
I think adding a blog to a business can be very advantageous for the business and the potential customers. But I think the business owner has to be careful about what they post on their blog. Showcasing their expertise,as you said, is a great idea. Whining or complaining or getting too personal probably is not.
Thanks,
Peggy
